Our Story

​We, Owen and Emily, are the brains behind Shuswap Organics. We work together to bring you a fresh and delicious organic vegetables and preserves. We moved to the North Okanagan from Vancouver to farm, and along the way started making jams and pickles to preserve the seasons' bounty. We are proud of what we produce, and hope you can taste our care for quality and value in every bite. ​​

 Owen Madden

Owen is a recovered lawyer from Ireland. He practised as a criminal prosecutor in Dublin before re-training in Global Climate Change Law. He found his way to Vancouver where he worked in environmental law, and then in full-scale public environmental advocacy with a focus on avoiding climate chaos. Marrying a farmer (Emily) led to relocation and discovery of a love for the creation of organic foods, which led to the creation of Shuswap Organics.

Emily Jubenvill

Emily grew up on Bowen Island, BC, studied environmental science at university, and spent nearly ten years working on food security and urban agriculture projects in the Vancouver area. She loves living in the North Okanagan, and the amazing community of organic farmers in the region.
